Live blogging Whites & Rosés at #WBC14
Well this would have been live if I could have gotten the Internet to work at any point during the day. I could only get my IPhone to connect and when I reported it I was told to just keep trying. So, here’s what I wrote during the live blogging. So, I’ve added “live” to my heading.
I hope in today’s session I get better service. I added bold to my heading after the session.
2013 Grenche Blanc Urban Legend
The vineyards are located in Capay Valley, northwest of Sacramento. But the winery is in Oakland in the area nicknamed the Drinks District. They use handsorting and more artisan approach to winemaking.
According to Marilyn, they choose to focus on flavor so they buy grapes from all over. They make 2,500 cases. Urban Legend makes more than 15 different varieties ranging from Pinot Noir to Chardonnay; and lean toward Italian wines.
This wine was created for vegans who can drink it to have classic pairings. Stainless steel with lees stirring with more mouth feel. Very clean and focused with stone fruits of peach. Lots of acid which helps with food especially veggies.
2012 Grenche Blanc Yproot
All wines are made in Napa alley. They lease acerage but they can control yield.

2013 Sauvignon Blanc Charles Krug St Helena

Beautiful aromatics of peach blossoms that just jumped out of the glass. They use a long, slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks. This helps to preserve the fruit freshness tha tfills the glass. I get lemon zest. Estate bottled and grown nearby estate.
